Damon Clear

How Damon Braces Work
Damon Braces use a passive slide mechanism instead of elastics to help the wire guide teeth into place. These clips help reduce the amount of pressure being placed on the tooth and require fewer adjustments because there are no elastics to replace. The most efficient and comfortable way to move teeth is with a light, continuous force. The Damon Braces rely on this principle for orthodontic correction.
Damon Braces’ slide mechanism holds a titanium memory wire, allowing freer movement of each tooth as compared with traditional brackets. During appointments, your teeth are analyzed and the wire removed, adjusted, and then reapplied to help ease each tooth into its ideal position.
Teeth often have a tendency to return to their original positions following treatment, which is called a relapse. Many factors can influence the possibility of relapse. Damon System results are built to last; however, it may be necessary to wear some type of retainer following treatment.
